Jon had his presentation at our church this morning. He was completely nervous this morning but on stage you would have never noticed. He shared about his ministry and two stories - one about Palouse Junction, an alternative high school in Connell, and a story about Jeff, an at-risk youth who got saved this summer. Jon's practice at home paid off because he looked natural on stage and showed his passion for his Peak 7 ministry. It was a great success!
One exciting development is that New Hope has decided to be Jon's sending church. What that entails is not only financial support but also the support of the pastor and elders to introduce Jon to other churches in our area and basically vouch for him. It's really exciting because it means our church is willing to help Jon get in touch with other churches and raise prayer and financial support. It is a HUGE answer to prayer!
Our church's missions conference has one more missionary presenting next week and then the church will take stock of the financial commitment people are willing to make. You can continue to pray that people will commit to supporting our ministry.
In other exciting news, Michelle has finished her first MBA class. Each class is five weeks long, and she finished the class with 100%! She is really excited and anxious to start her next class this week.
This week we will be heading out on our annual vacation. We are leaving on Wednesday night and coming home the following Monday. This year's vacation will be at Lincoln City, Oregon. We hope to meet up with some friends in the Salem area as well as enjoy a relaxing time of doing nothing. Our only plans are to participate in Lincoln City's Finders-Keepers glass float search and to eat at Mo's. It should be a great vacation!
Woo!! Sounds like things are going really well for you two! I hope you had a blast on your vacation! :)
